The Furiæ (powered by the Maze)
A downloadable game
Full of tears will be the day, when from
the ashes shall arise, a guilty being to be
judged for the only crime not comitted:
to be betrayed. Betrayed by their friends,
masters, siblings, councillors and lovers...
the Furiæ was born.
THE PREMISE
The Furiæ -powered by the Maze- is a revamped version and a solo game inspired by
- The Magus (Momatoes).
- El Hombre Abstracto (Luis Montejano Celma).
- Archipelago III(Matthijs Holter).
- Itras by (Ole Peder Giæver, Martin Bull Gudmundsen).
You will portray a character who belonged to a secret order in 1640, but suffered high treason... far beyond human comprehension. That day, the character died, but the Furiæ -an embodiment of Vengeance and Punishment- was born and took the full control of their body, mind and soul. The price was too high, but the the reward was very tempting.
THIS NEW EDITION - Revamped and Accessible!
Whether you've played the first edition before or if this is your first encounter with The Furiæ , I recommend reading this section. Rest assured, the rules from the first edition remain unchanged. In this new revised edition, powered by the Maze, the main text from the original manual has been thoughtfully separated and expanded into four booklets. In this way, I expect to:
- Ensuring one of the core principles of powered by the Maze games, offering both a clear version and aesthetically pleasing layout, where illustrations are not disconected from the main text.
- Allowing immediate modifications and the creation of exciting new derivatives of your own, as far as these documents have been made using Google Slides.
- Ensuring smooth adaptation to various languages, based on the same argument that on the previous point.
THE FURIÆ - PRACEPTA (RULES)
A document that includes the complete standalone set of rules that you will need to play this game. In these pages you will find:
- The elements you will need to play this game: a set of obstreperous cards and a journal where you will record your game.

- A summary of the two (2) types of events: essence event and attachment event.
- Gameplay actions and the summary of the game loop.
- The complete set of obstreperous cards, ready to print.
THE FURIÆ - CODEX PRODITIONUM (GAME)
The game itself. In the pages of this booklet you will exclusively find:

- Name of the illustration.
- Acknowledged author.

- Current location.
The illustrations are not a complement, but have a crucial role during the game itself, providing a sensory notion, which goes beyond the text of each event. The summary that accompanies each illustration provides additional information about the elements, themes and tone of each work.
THE FURIÆ - PER OCULOS PRODITORIS (FULL WALKTHROUGH)
This booklet is a complete example of gameplay. The year was 1644, and this was the untold story of Ibn Al-Qádir, a former freemason, exposed to the authorities. After his sudden death due to the very act of being betrayed, he descended into Hell and bent the knee to The Court of the Furies. What happened next, is up to you to discover it.
FINAL WORDS
You will be still be able to download the first edition of The Furiæ. Although, all the following updates and language localization will be applied only in the current powered by the Maze edition.
I would especially like to thank Momatoes for her kind and encouraging words when I let her know that The Magus had inspired me so far, after a long period of creative break, to get back into game-design and game creation. Special thanks to Silverio, @laesquinadelrol, Rolparauno, Oromaito and Bardo for their comments and discussions about the game. Very special thanks to Alba À. Holgado, who made possible the català translation of the first edition.
